A Review of Library Thing

Site: LibraryThing

Members: ??

Features: Library Thing is really centered on tagging and it is a major part of the construct of the site.  The site has a lot of the same features that Shelfari and Goodreads has, with groups, ratings and commenting being some of the features of the site. Library Thing has one of the more in-depth profile setups in this niche, it has a section where you are allowed to share what other social media sites you are on.

One of the things that sets Library Thing apart is a much more focused approach on local events. There is a whole section of the site dedicated to it that allows you to find events, venues, and people to connect with.
LibraryThing also offers premium accounts for nonprofits and organizations.

Review: Compared to Shelfari and Goodreads the LibraryThing interface is slow and clunky. The site doesn’t have the same visual appeal as the other sites but offers a lot of the same features.

The one thing I think that LibraryThing does well in comparison to the other sites is that it uses the sidebars to plug you into more date and users giving you a constant way to discover new books and people.
