Site: Paperback Swap

Members: 47726

Features: Paperback swap is another book sharing service with a community built into it. Users can build up credits with successful swaps with other members in order to get books of their own. Additionally they can participate in rating and reviewing books within the community.

You can setup profiles, your own personal page, and list your complete bookshelf. Within the community you can friend and message members as well as participate in forums and live chat.

Review: Paperback swap has a really active user base and swapping service. While I think the look of the site gives off a dated vibe and believe that the navigation is clunky (three different menu bars) the site is still functional and serves the purpose it was designed for.

  1. BB says:

One thing you need to note is that many PBS users expect perfection in their books. They’ll request older, out-of-print books, expecting the books to be in pristine condition. If they don’t like the condition of the books, they throw them out (instead of sending them back) and demand their credits back. Complaining to the PBS staff gets you nothing.
Complaining to the BBB gets you banned (your account frozen), as happened to someone who posted to Consumeraffairs.org.
