A review of Sportsvite

Features: Sportsvite allows athletes to connect with each other to find team members, work out partners, and people to participate with in pickup games. Users can list the sports that they play and rank their ability. Additionally they are able to list their interest in playing, their availability, and allow people to connect. Being a new resident to the Boston area I was able to find teams that I could play on in various sports as well as people that I could potentially form teams with.
The profile system is pretty good. Information wise you can track the events around the city, the teams, and the leagues. The site is also broken down by cities and areas so you are not getting hit with information that is not relevant to your use.
Review: I really like the design, idea, and community around this site. This site has a purpose and sticks to it. While some niche sites try to overload the site with too many features that common social networks have (like the ability to blog on it) the features on this site are straightforward and set around a purpose.
I will be using this site past my review phase and in my personal life.
