Features: Amateur Illustrator is another social art and illustration community on the web that is purely in the illustration niche as opposed to some of the wider ranging art social networks. You can upload your content to show off here, chat, create a profile, and participate in the forums. Other than that the feature set isn’t as robust as other sites.
Additionally the site doesn’t offer shopping features like a lot of the other art social networks that are available. The vibe here isn’t about commerce more like people showing off their love of a hobby.
On the individual item page Amateur Illustrator tries to help gain more exposure with directions to use stumble upon to draw traffic, key word usage, and the URLs to directly link to the picture.
Review: The site is easy enough to use but it is rather weak on features. The community and membership is small which is reflected in the forums where some topic areas haven’t been touched in over a week.
I don’t see what the selling point for this site would be in comparison to some of the other art social networking sites.
