Site Review: Shelfari

Site: Shelfari

Members: ?

Features: Shelfari is another rating and knowledge share site like Goodreads. It allows people to rate and comment on books, share information with friends as well as participate in groups. There is a section where authors share their personal picks and what is on their shelf.

The features are pretty straightforward like Goodreads. They do offer a Facebook application to share your data with friends. Shelfari keeps things basic. On a side note Shelfari was acquired by Amazon in 2008 two years after it’s launch.

Review: There isn’t a lot to say about Shelfari that I didn’t say in the Goodreads review, the sites are very close to each other with almost nothing separating them. Shelfari has done a really good job at creating applications on Facebook and other social networking sites to share your information.  I like the idea that Shelfari has profiles of authors and what they have read or are reading.
