What is on your social media reading list?

By: Kevin Palmer on 04/17/2009

I have been asked what are some of my favorite social media books. Personally I go through a book or two every month in the realm of social media. Lately I have been reading a lot of books that are written by marketers and I find it a little disheartening because so many of these books use the same examples when they talk about social media.

So I am going to recommend a few books that are more academically themed. And not books like “Groundswell” or others that have more of a marketing tint, these are more about conversation, sharing, organization, and collaboration.

The Building Blocks:
The Wisdom of the Crowds
The Cluetrain Manifesto
The Tipping Point

Newer Books:
The Wealth of Networks
Here Comes Everybody

A pretty short reading list but I wanted to leave this open to allow to people to make suggestions and talk about things that they have read.

So what is on your reading list?

  1. Hmm…well, the two most recent ones that I’ve read and that I rather enjoyed were:
    - “Once You’re Lucky, Twice You’re Good” by Sarah Lacy
    - “Naked Conversations: how blogs are changing the way businesses talk with customers” by Robert Scoble & Shel Israel

There are a few others that I want to read I just haven’t had a chance to get around to them…
