Features: Zinch is a site where students can connect with college recruiters and display who they are besides just a test score and a transcript. The site already has over 400 colleges using it as a recruiting tool.
Users fill out a profile that gives them the ability to explain who they are, what they have done, and what they want to do. There is a section for discussions, for people to show off their talents, and a contest for 20 student blogging positions within the site.
Also there is a resource section that helps students with test preparation to scholarships.
Review: I have reviewed close to three hundred social networking sites at this point. 95% of the ones I have reviewed could go away and it wouldn’t negatively impact the world, they are clones, unoriginal, and really don’t fill a need as much as their competitiors. That is why it is truly enjoyable to find a site that is a little different, that serves a purpose, and that is designed well. Zinch is all of these.
I found the site to have a good user interface. It was easy to understand and get around without being an eyesore.
The site has had some good growth in the short time it has been around and I hope it continues.
